Shimmer by Jessie Marie

Shimmer

Jessie Marie

my shimmering heart draped in tears
drums a song behind a thorny cage
ghosts dressed in moonlight
wail against the inky black of night
sorrow is stitched into their eyes
an echo of dreams heard on the wind
I restore myself in the light of the stars
a spotlight of hope drinks me up
such a dream of being whole again

About the Podcast

One Poem Only
I'm Maggie Devers, and each day I'll read you a poem-nothing more, nothing less. No analysis, no noise-just a little space to listen.
A daily reading. A quiet moment. One poem, center stage: just for now, just for you. A one-night-only show, in verse.

Come back tomorrow. The curtain rises again.

Maggie Devers

I'm a poet, a reader, and someone who believes in the quiet power of a single well-chosen word. Each day, I share one poem on my podcast One Poem Only—a small daily pause in a noisy world.

My own writing lives alongside the voices I read. My debut poetry collection, For My Daughter, is a personal offering—an exploration of memory, love, and the joy of childhood. You can also listen to it as an audiobook.

Whether I’m reading the words of others or sharing my own, I hope to create space for stillness, feeling, and connection—one poem at a time.
