Tower Moment by Belly Lux | One Poem Only

One Poem Only is a daily ritual: one poem, center stage, just for now.

Tower Moment

Belly Lux

a little aftercare
a little Sugar For The Pill
playing low in the background
Carharrt and red lace in puddles
but there is no sun left for me
and no more sunday kind of love
Tobacco Vanille and one meal a day
it’s the year of the skin, the year of rejection
our world is locked up and my lips are zipped
because it’s bad luck when more people know
so i stitch my guts back inside
and i keep it all within me
monogamy is out of season
yet i’m loyal to the fantasy alone
i’m drawn out by the divine timing
i’m seeing numbers, patterns, and signs
and in a collision of planets, in saturns return
the universe pulls us back together in one last effort
i see you, and in my nature, i smile,
my heart reaching out more than ever
i see you come, i see you go, and i forgive the fluidity
it’s a tower moment for me, for us
realising the only control i have is over myself
it all boils down to just one thing, it’s my one life
what will i do with it? and what is it that i want?

About the Podcast

One Poem Only
I'm Maggie Devers, and each day I'll read you a poem-nothing more, nothing less. No analysis, no noise-just a little space to listen.
A daily reading. A quiet moment. One poem, center stage: just for now, just for you. A one-night-only show, in verse.

Come back tomorrow. The curtain rises again.
