Episode 99 - Speak by Maggie Devers
Speak
Maggie Devers
She speaks in poetry
Like she doesn’t know another way.
Seriously, there is a soundtrack to her life.
It’s not even main character energy,
It’s ‘I embody me’ energy.
How brave to live for yourself
And all your deep, true, pure desires,
The ones underneath what you show
And even the ones under those.
Excavate your heart and find the way to live for you.
Venture to the bottom of the well
Where it’s cool and quiet,
Where the water springs from the earth—
There you will find all you need,
The poetry to speak.

Write After: National Poetry Month with One Poem Only
Write After is a way to encourage poets to listen and write, and use National Poetry Month to highlight how listening to poetry makes us better poets. I know I write the best when I’m surrounded by beautiful poetry–it’s part of the reason I created this podcast, and I want to encourage others to share this practice. We'll get started in April. You can share to #WriteAfterOPO.
